NHL Student Intern, Fall 2026 (Remote)

TL;DR

NHL Student Intern (Remote): Writing and reporting on stories across the league’s 32 teams with an accent on breaking news, enterprise projects, and trending topics. Focus on quick-turn assignments, deep-dive storytelling, and collaborating with NHL editors and reporters.

Location: Remote for candidates residing in the US and Canada only. May require some travel to Chicago and/or New York City. Candidates in New York City have the option of working on-site in the New York City office.

$20 USD per hour

What you will do

• Write NHL breaking news stories.
• Pitch, report, write, and fact-check hockey stories.
• Follow editorial standards and attend regular meetings.
• Collaborate with NHL editors and reporters on ideas and assignments.
• Edit and publish hockey stories.

Requirements

• Undergraduate students ideally in junior or senior year, or recent graduates.
• Ability to work 30–40 hours per week, including nights and weekends.
• Journalism background and understanding of newsroom operations.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Flexibility to adapt to fast-paced environment.
• Deep knowledge of and passion for hockey.
