Senior DevOps Engineer (AWS)

TL;DR

Senior DevOps Engineer (AWS): Building and maintaining secure, scalable cloud infrastructure for mission-critical public service systems with an accent on Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD reliability. Focus on automating production environments using Terraform and Kubernetes to support large-scale national programs.

Location: Hybrid (50% office attendance within commuting distance of an NEC SWS office). Must be eligible for SC/NPPV3 security clearance. Must have pre-existing right to work and travel within the EU.

What you will do

• Take ownership of cloud infrastructure from provisioning to day-to-day operations.
• Implement and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) as the default for all environment changes.
• Optimize CI/CD pipelines to ensure they remain fast, reliable, and secure.
• Monitor environment performance, uptime, and resource usage to troubleshoot issues.
• Research industry trends and conduct spikes to introduce better technical workflows.
• Collaborate with wider teams and Solutions Architects to deliver tailored DevOps solutions.

Requirements

• Several years of experience running production cloud infrastructure on AWS.
• Advanced knowledge of Terraform, including managing complex estates and writing reusable modules.
• Hands-on production experience with Kubernetes and ArgoCD.
• Proficiency in Python or Bash for automation tasks.
• Proven experience creating and securing CI/CD pipelines (CircleCI is a bonus).
