Cloud Platform Engineer

TL;DR

Cloud Platform Engineer (AWS/Azure/OCI): Build and operate core public cloud platform foundations including landing zones, identity integration, networking, and IaC frameworks with an accent on automation and DevOps practices. Focus on provisioning shared services, automating IAM workflows, maintaining networking components, and supporting operational reliability.

Location: Must have pre-existing right to work and travel within the UK and be eligible for UK Security Clearance (SC level or higher).

What you will do

• Implement and maintain cloud landing zones, account structures, and baseline configurations.
• Provision shared platform services like network hubs and identity integrations.
• Build cloud networking components including VNets/VPCs, routing, DNS, and private endpoints.
• Develop and maintain Terraform templates, modules, and CI/CD pipelines for IaC.
• Contribute to automation tooling and self-service capabilities for application teams.
• Handle day-to-day operations, incident response, patching, and onboarding new environments.

Requirements

• Eligible for UK Security Clearance (SC level or higher, NPPV Level 3, or Enhanced).
• Intermediate or advanced certifications in AWS, Azure, or OCI (above Fundamentals).
• Experience with at least one public cloud (AWS, Azure, or OCI) and Terraform IaC.
• Understanding of cloud networking, identity fundamentals, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience in DevOps/SRE/platform engineering, ITIL frameworks, and scripting (Bash, Python, PowerShell).
• Collaborative approach with clear communication and adherence to standards.

Nice to have

• Enterprise network design/support (routing, firewalls, DNS, VPN/ExpressRoute).
• Windows Server/Active Directory or Unix/Linux (RHEL, Ubuntu) administration.
• Container platforms and Kubernetes (AKS/EKS/GKE).
• Monitoring/observability tools (Azure Monitor, CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana).
