Senior Engineer I (UK Region) (Web Isolation): Extending and supporting remote browser technology on desktop and mobile platforms with an accent on Chromium internals, networking, video/audio, and advanced HTML5 features. Focus on implementing and maintaining features across Chromium layers including content, browser, core, compositor, skia, and networking, with containerization, scaling, load balancing, and strong security focus.

Location: UK region (US/UK Web Isolation team)

What you will do

• Extend and support remote browser technology serving millions of users on worldwide cloud.
• Work on Chromium internals, networking, video/audio, advanced HTML5 features like WebGL and WebRTC.
• Implement features at various Chromium layers: content, browser, core, compositor, skia, networking.
• Handle containerization, load balancing, scaling, and cost-saving with security focus.
• Collaborate in a team with strong design and code review culture.

Requirements

• Excellent C++ skills
• Ability to use modern AI tooling in development workflows
• Strong networking fundamentals
• Experience implementing and maintaining features in Chromium or other browser platforms
• Systems-level Linux experience
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• BSc or higher in Computer Science or related field

Nice to have

• Strong knowledge of Python, Rust, Javascript
• Strong knowledge of HTTP security
• Tornado, haproxy, AWS EC2, WebGL, WebRTC, font rendering, input experience
