What you will do

• Own architecture decisions for the writing-app, evaluate trade-offs balancing speed, quality, and maintainability.
• Define and evolve team's technical standards including coding patterns, testing, and dependency management; drive technical debt reduction.
• Lead triage, coordination during incidents, root cause analysis, and preventive measures as first responder for production issues.
• Drive technical discussions in grooming, planning, standups, and retros; ensure decisions are documented.
• Review significant PRs, provide feedback, catch architectural issues, ensure appropriate sizing.
• Resolve sprint obstacles, unblock engineers, translate product requirements to technical implementation, communicate status and risks.

Requirements

• 5+ years building modern web applications in SaaS environment with significant full-stack experience
• Strong proficiency in React/Next.js (frontend) and Python (backend); comfortable with database design, API architecture, frontend state management
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, deployment processes, and monitoring (Datadog or similar)
• Demonstrated ability to self-direct, drive work to completion, make decisions under ambiguity
• Code review discipline with substantive, constructive feedback
• Strong communication and collaboration skills in meetings, async writing, and feedback

Nice to have

• Experience with rich text editors, document collaboration, or ProseMirror/similar frameworks
• Comfort using AI-assisted coding tools (Claude Code, Copilot, Cursor) responsibly with security awareness
