TL;DR
Account Executive, SLED Inside Sales (DC) (SaaS/Public Sector): Building pipeline and closing deals under $75k within state, local government, and education institutions with an accent on government compliance, procurement processes, and digital transformation initiatives. Focus on collaborating with field AEs, conducting demos, preparing proposals, and navigating public sector sales cycles.
Location: Hybrid: San Francisco office hub, 2 days a week in office. Assigned SLED territory covering East and Mid-Enterprise public sector.
Salary: $136,000 — $204,000 USD (OTE, varies by location including California excl. SF Bay Area, Colorado, Illinois, New York, Washington)

What you will do
- Work with East and Mid-Enterprise SLED Account Executives and Area Sales Directors to target and close opportunities in state, local government, and education.
- Sell deals under $75k in SLED Enterprise segment, own pipeline, and manage deals proactively.
- Conduct demos, prepare quotes, proposals, and Business Value Assessments tailored to SLED needs.
- Navigate internal teams like xDR, Deal Desk, Customer Success, and Public Sector-specific groups.
- Develop understanding of solutions aligned with government compliance and security mandates.
- Deliver sales presentations to CIOs, IT directors, procurement teams; negotiate proposals and contracts compliant with public sector regulations.
Requirements
- BS/BA degree or equivalent experience.
- 2+ years direct full-cycle software sales experience in closing, quota-carrying role, preferably SaaS B2B or public sector.
- Proven track record meeting/exceeding quota.
- Experience in collaborative sales ecosystem with AEs, xDRs, SEs, RMs, CSMs, channel partners.
- Ability to run demos and lead qualification with government/education stakeholders independently.
- Executive presence for presenting to senior government and education officials.
Nice to have
- Familiarity with Google Workspace, Salesforce, Outreach, Sales Navigator.
- Experience selling to public sector, government, education customers.
- Understanding of public procurement processes, contracting vehicles, compliance requirements.
- Excellent verbal/written communication skills.
