What you will do

• Lead a "manager of managers" structure overseeing data streaming infrastructure across AWS and Azure.
• Define the team's strategic vision and prioritize the roadmap in collaboration with product stakeholders.
• Drive engineering excellence by establishing high standards for quality, observability, and incident management.
• Cultivate an automation-first culture, implementing self-healing infrastructure and AI-assisted development.
• Serve as a technical leader during complex distributed systems failures and incidents.

Requirements

• Proven experience building and leading teams of teams, including coaching Staff+ engineers and managers.
• Strong technical background in architecting scalable, distributed systems.
• Expertise in project management, technical roadmapping, and agile execution.
• Must be based in the USA (Chicago, New York, or Washington, DC).
• Excellent communication skills adapted for remote and hybrid collaboration.

Nice to have

• Experience with Go, Node.js, or Java.
• Proficiency with Kafka, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB.
• Knowledge of Identity and Access Management (IAM) domains.
• Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and Datadog in an enterprise SaaS environment.
