TL;DR

What you will do

  • Administer bi-weekly, semi-monthly, or monthly payrolls using ADP, Paychex, Gusto, QuickBooks Payroll, or BambooHR.
  • Post payroll transactions to QuickBooks, NetSuite, or Xero and reconcile with bank statements.
  • Prepare and file federal, state, and local payroll taxes including forms 941, W-2, 1099.
  • Reconcile benefits like healthcare and retirement with provider invoices.
  • Respond to employee inquiries on pay stubs, deductions, and onboarding within SLA.
  • Generate reports, support audits, and improve processes with Excel macros or integrations.

Requirements

  • 2+ years payroll processing experience
  • Hands-on with at least one payroll system (ADP, Paychex, QuickBooks, Gusto, BambooHR)
  • Intermediate Excel/Google Sheets (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, reconciliations)
  • Knowledge of U.S. payroll tax regulations

Nice to have

  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC)
  • Multi-state or international payroll experience
  • Reconciling payroll with accounting entries
  • HRIS/payroll integrations (BambooHR, Zenefits, Workday)
