Field Service Engineer - 1L/First Line YS (lithography/metrology): Servicing lithography and metrology machines at customer sites including installation, upgrade, qualification, diagnostics, repair, and maintenance with an accent on independent problem-solving and customer interaction. Focus on root cause analysis, executing action plans, escalating issues, and providing continuous improvement through defect analysis and procedure updates.
Location: Chandler, AZ, US (onsite in cleanroom, compressed 12hr shifts, up to 25% travel first year then 10%, international/domestic for training and support)

What you will do
- Diagnose root causes, define and execute action plans independently for regular and irregular maintenance.
- Handle most technical problems on your own, escalate when needed with clear problem statements.
- Interface with internal/external customers on planning, progress, and technical matters.
- Adhere to safety protocols, perform hands-on work on machines using ladders/platforms, handle parts/tools.
- Complete backend actions like paperwork, parts returns, cleanup, and provide improvement reports.
- Stay updated via continuous learning and training on machine changes.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in education, skills, experience; legally authorized to access US controlled technology prior to starting
- Mechanical aptitude, knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, electronics, semiconductor processes, relevant software.
- Preferred 2+ years in customer support for high-tech products, 1+ year micro-lithography/metrology experience.
- Strong customer focus, ability to work independently or in team, clear professional communication.
- Attention to detail, perform in demanding environment with changing workloads/deadlines.
- Physical abilities: lift 50lbs, cleanroom work in PPE/Gore-Tex suit, vision requirements, mobility.
