Backend QA Engineer (Node/TypeScript)

Location: Fully onsite at the office in Lisbon, Portugal. Relocation support is available.

Salary: €52K–€65K annually.

What you will do

• Design and execute tests for backend APIs, databases, and service integrations.
• Validate REST API functionality and performance using Postman, Swagger, or similar tools.
• Verify database operations, SQL queries, and data integrity in PostgreSQL and comparable relational databases.
• Support the development and maintenance of automated tests for backend services.
• Review pull requests and backend infrastructure changes for quality, reliability, performance, and test coverage.
• Document defects, test cases, and test results and collaborate with engineering and product teams to improve testing strategies.

Requirements

• Approximately 2–3 years of experience with backend technologies, testing, or software development in test roles.
• Experience with Node.js and TypeScript in backend environments.
• Experience testing REST APIs with Postman, Swagger, or similar tools.
• Familiarity with SQL databases, particularly PostgreSQL, including query validation and data integrity testing.
• Understanding of API, database, and integration testing practices.
• Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and cross-functional collaboration abilities.

• Familiarity with TestRail or comparable test management tools.
