What you will do

• Compare carbon emissions of AI workloads in public cloud environments versus on-premise infrastructure.
• Investigate how model size, architecture, and optimization techniques influence emissions and costs.
• Develop a calculation methodology to determine on-premise emissions.
• Research cost management frameworks for Agentic workloads.
• Support the Sustainable AI and FinOps (SAIF) team with reporting, analysis, and ad-hoc tasks.

Requirements

• Must be enrolled in a master’s programme in a technical or quantitative field.
• Basic knowledge of AI or machine learning systems.
• Experience with data analysis using Python, R, or similar tools.
• Affinity with sustainability, green IT, or environmental impact.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
• Ability to translate technical findings into clear and actionable insights.
