Signal Integrity Engineer

TL;DR

Signal Integrity Engineer (HPC Networking): Perform SI simulations, modeling, and analysis for high-speed interfaces in next-generation Fabric platforms with an accent on interconnect/channel simulation, 3D modeling, and design guidelines. Focus on lab measurements correlation, SerDes testing, cable qualification, and reviewing PCB layouts for PCIe and Ethernet compliance.

Location: Hybrid work model based at Chesterbrook Corporate Center in Wayne, PA. Ideal candidate resides within reasonable commuting distance.

What you will do

• Perform SI simulations including modeling, pre/post-processing, and analysis.
• Support high-speed interface interconnects/channel simulation and analysis.
• Conduct lab measurements with equipment for SI, SerDes tests, cable evaluation, and simulation correlation.
• Provide design guidelines based on simulations and 3D modeling.
• Review platform designs to ensure signal paths meet high-speed interface specs like PCIe and Ethernet.
• Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, software, test, and manufacturing teams for production ramp-up.

Requirements

• 3+ years experience with electromagnetic (EM) simulation tools.
• BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related.
• Understanding of transmission line theory, EM fields, S-parameters, and impedance matching.
• Knowledge of SI fundamentals for packages, BGA, connectors, and PCBs.
• Scripting in Matlab and Python.
• Develop technical documents like design guidelines and correlation reports.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Nice to have

• 2D/3D EM solvers: Ansys HFSS, CST, Sigrity, Keysight SI/PI/EM Pro.
• Channel simulation: Keysight ADS for frequency/time domain.
• High-speed interfaces: PCIe, Ethernet IEEE802.3.
• Lab experience: Oscilloscope, VNA, BERT, TDR.
• PCB layout tools: Cadence Allegro or similar.
• Strong problem-solving for SI/PI issues.
• Optical and active copper cable technologies.
