What you will do

• Write high-quality C/C++ code with comprehensive tests and participate in code reviews.
• Improve database scalability and throughput for growing clusters and transaction volumes.
• Troubleshoot correctness, stability, and performance issues in distributed query paths.
• Design, implement, and test new features under senior guidance.
• Contribute to the open source hirify.globalDB project across releases.
• Collaborate with query, storage, and platform engineering teams.

Requirements

• 1–4 years in software engineering with strong C/C++ foundation.
• Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Computer Science or equivalent.
• Understanding of systems engineering fundamentals: OS, distributed systems, databases.
• Strong data structures, algorithms, and OS knowledge.
• Experience in C/C++, Java, or similar systems languages.
• Basic concurrency, threading, or distributed systems concepts.
• Strong problem-solving in collaborative distributed teams.

Nice to have

• Experience in distributed or storage systems.
• Exposure to databases, SQL, or PostgreSQL.
• Familiarity with replication, transactions, or fault tolerance.
• Open source contributions to databases or systems projects.
