What you will do

• Design and evolve a scalable, secure cloud-native lakehouse platform using Databricks, Microsoft Fabric, and dbt.
• Implement batch and streaming data pipelines for healthcare sources including EHR, claims, HL7/FHIR, and APIs.
• Develop modular frameworks for data ingestion, quality, lineage, metadata, and observability.
• Architect HIPAA-aligned access patterns and secure handling of PHI.
• Mentor senior and mid-level engineers and guide the long-term platform strategy.
• Collaborate with clinicians, data scientists, and product managers to translate healthcare needs into technical solutions.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in data engineering, with 2+ years in a senior or staff-level role.
• Deep proficiency with Databricks, Spark, Delta Lake, dbt, and Python.
• Experience designing and operating large-scale cloud data platforms, preferably on Azure.
• Experience working in HIPAA regulated environments and handling PHI.
• Fluency in healthcare data standards and compliance.
• Must be based in the United States (ET or CT work hours preferred).

Nice to have

• Experience implementing Epic integrations using Cogito Cloud and Caboodle data models.
• Experience delivering incremental data pipelines from Caboodle/Clarity.
