Location: Remote (USA). Occasional travel to Mississauga and/or Salt Lake City offices is required for onboarding and team events.
Salary: $146,000 - $162,000 per year

What you will do
- Manage, build, and troubleshoot cloud-based database infrastructure for mission-critical SaaS applications.
- Develop automations and coding processes to reduce toil and manage database systems at scale.
- Improve observability by monitoring database metrics to ensure desired objectives are met.
- Provide database expertise to engineering and SRE teams regarding migrations, query optimization, and standardized configurations.
- Collaborate with the DBA team on performance troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
Requirements
- Must be based in the USA.
- 7+ years of experience with relational database systems, including 3+ years at a Senior, Lead, or Architect level.
- 2+ years of experience specifically in a DBRE or SRE role.
- Proficiency with SQL Server (preferred) and experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
- Strong experience with IaC tools (Terraform, Ansible) and source control (Git).
- Proven experience managing Very Large Databases (VLDBs > 1TB) and environments with 100+ databases.
Nice to have
- Experience with MySQL or PostgreSQL.
- Knowledge of Azure Data Factory, DataBricks, Grafana, or InfluxDB.
- Experience with various flavors of NoSQL databases.
