Salary: CAD $159,000–$176,000 a year + bonus + benefits

What you will do

• Apply ML/AI techniques including GenAI and LLMs to build and scale solutions integrated into healthcare SaaS environments.
• Collaborate with product leaders, clinical informaticists, data scientists, engineers, and healthcare professionals to design high-value AI solutions.
• Design, build, and evaluate models for healthcare use cases like predictive analytics, summarization, recommenders, semantic search, extraction, and classification.
• Conduct research, experimentation, data preparation, prompt tuning, fine-tuning, training, and evaluation of models.
• Implement responsible AI practices using frameworks like LLM-as-judge, RAGAS, LangSmith, and custom metrics for quality, fairness, and safety.
• Contribute to team culture by sharing knowledge and developing organizational capabilities.

Requirements

• PhD + 1+ years related industry experience or Masters + 4+ years industry experience including 1+ year in healthcare ML/AI.
• Proven experience through multiple major product releases in commercial SaaS environments.
• Hands-on experience with healthcare data (e.g., EHR, ADT, clinical notes).
• Proficiency in Python, SQL, and data engineering for AI/ML; experience with big data frameworks (Azure Data Lake, Spark, Databricks).
• Solid understanding of transformer models, LLMs, prompt tuning, PEFT (LoRA, QLoRA) using Hugging Face Transformers.
• Experience with ML packages (NumPy, SciPy, Pandas, Scikit-learn, PyTorch, LightGBM) and deploying models on cloud infrastructure (Azure, AWS, GCP) with CI/CD.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills for distributed teams.
• Experience with RL/RLHF, NLP for summarization/extraction/classification/semantic search, RAG pipelines, or agentic frameworks (LangChain, LlamaIndex).
