What you will do
- Lead on-site startup, commissioning, and preventative maintenance of RUPS systems, including generator integration and flywheel validation.
- Perform functional testing, load bank testing, system synchronization, and full system validation.
- Troubleshoot complex electrical and mechanical issues in generators, flywheels, switchgear, and control systems.
- Interface with clients, vendors, and internal teams during commissioning and acceptance testing.
- Train junior technicians on procedures, troubleshooting, and safe equipment operation.
- Provide field reports, resolve punch list items, and support system optimization and integration.
Requirements
- BSEE or MSEE; minimum 4 years field experience with RUPS-UPS, rotary, or generator systems; 4 years as electrical engineer.
- Proficiency in power/automation programming (IEC, Python, Java, SQL, HTML), ladder logic, PLCs, HMIs, and communication protocols (Modbus/TCP, OPC, DNP3).
- Hands-on experience with rotating equipment, diesel generators, electrical troubleshooting, relay testing, load banks, and diagnostic tools.
- Ability to read electrical drawings/schematics; OSHA 10/30 and NFPA 70E certifications.
- Must be able to lift 25lbs, work in field environments (hot/cold), and travel 70%.
