Field Service Technician (Level 1, 2 or 3)

TL;DR

Field Service Technician (Level 1, 2 or 3): Hands-on installation, modification, testing, and basic commissioning of LV/MV electrical switchgear components and subassemblies in data center and industrial applications with an accent on troubleshooting electrical circuits and coordinating with clients and contractors. Focus on performing preventive maintenance, resolving field issues with manufacturing support, and providing technical product support during 75% travel.

Location: Irrigon, Oregon or Boardman, OR, United States; 75% travel required, initial 4-week training in Ashburn, VA.

Compensation: $36.30–$52.80 per hour, based on location, experience, and qualifications.

What you will do

• Install and modify electrical/mechanical components and subassemblies (panelboards, circuit breakers, bus bars, switchgear, control wiring).
• Perform basic testing (visual, ductor) of modified assemblies.
• Conduct basic commissioning of switchboards, control panels, and power products.
• Troubleshoot electrical circuits and networking equipment.
• Coordinate with Technical Project Managers and manufacturing for solutions to field issues and parts.
• Perform preventive maintenance, field installations/modifications, and technical product support; attend project meetings.

Requirements

• Technical degree or equivalent + 8+ years in manufacturing, data center, or field service; LV/MV electrical switchgear commissioning required for Level 3.
• 75% travel; willing to work evenings/weekends as needed.
• Strong communication skills, team player, ability to work independently.
• Experience with switchgear and electrical controls systems (required for Level 3).
• Ability to read/interpret electrical wiring diagrams (required for Level 3).
