Software Engineer (Elixir)

Salary: $120,000 - $140,000 USD

What you will do

• Build and ship new features for the core web platform to engage students and support schools/community organizations.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Product, and Design teams through pairing, code reviews, and feedback on requirements.
• Lead projects, provide guidance and mentorship to other engineers.
• Fix bugs, improve code quality, address tech debt, and implement automated testing as user base grows.
• Reduce complexity in the codebase and discuss process improvements.

Requirements

• At least 5 years professional software engineering experience
• 4+ years Elixir (or functional language) in production
• Solid understanding of OTP
• Experience building web apps with Phoenix and LiveView
• Experience designing and consuming APIs
• Experience with relational databases (preferably PostgreSQL)
• Strong appreciation for automated tests and testing culture
• Product mindset focused on helping users
