Location: Hosted in Farmaceutici R&D labs in Parma, Italy; substantial part of research activity can be conducted remotely.

What you will do
- Develop computational models for aerosol transport and deposition in human lungs using stochastic/statistical algorithms.
- Learn lung physics, physiology, and therapeutic aerosol design concepts.
- Run simulations on top European supercomputing facilities following computational physics/engineering best practices.
- Contribute to virtual patient lungs (lung digital twins) and potential extensions to animal models.
Requirements
- Curriculum in mathematics, physics, fluid mechanics engineering, bio-engineering, or medical engineering.
- Basic programming skills and knowledge of Python.
- Good knowledge of written and spoken English for international multi-disciplinary environment.
- Propensity for team-working and communication.
Nice to have
- Knowledge of parallel computing.
- Knowledge of Linux/Unix operating systems.
