What you will do

• Play a key role in the launch team to develop and establish the new journal.
• Manage the editorial process, including manuscript selection and overseeing peer review.
• Contribute to content development, strategy, and editorial decision-making.
• Commission and edit Reviews, Perspectives, and Comments, and write editorials.
• Collaborate extensively with editors across the Nature portfolio.
• Represent the journal at conferences and visit research institutions.

Requirements

• PhD in a field relevant to mechanical engineering.
• Strong track record in research and broad scientific knowledge.
• Excellent literary and communication skills.
• Ability to quickly absorb and evaluate new areas of research.
• Must be authorized to work in the chosen office location (Shanghai, Beijing, Berlin, Heidelberg, or Milan).

Nice to have

• Postdoctoral research experience.
• Previous editorial experience in scientific publishing.
