R&D and Pipeline Long Term Planning Specialist

Location: Parma, Italy; location can be flexible. Remote work options and flexible working arrangements are available.

What you will do

• Prepare quantitative short- and long-term projections for the R&D pipeline, costs, timelines, resources, workload, and probability of success.
• Support pipeline reviews, R&D strategy definition, project prioritization, and headcount planning.
• Design and manage standardized project cards for internal project evaluations and business cases.
• Coordinate project Probability of Technical and Regulatory Success updates with cross-functional stakeholders.
• Maintain and improve long-term planning processes, standard values, Planisware, Innovation Dashboard, and other reporting tools.
• Coordinate with Finance, Global Strategy, franchises, GPMs, GPLs, and R&D performance management stakeholders.

Requirements

• Degree in Management Engineering, Business Economics, or a scientific field; an MBA or relevant experience may be required depending on the background.
• Previous experience in pharmaceutical R&D development, product innovation, R&D strategy, portfolio management, or business planning in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry.
• Knowledge of business administration, pharmaceutical development processes, project management, performance management, data analytics, and digital transformation.
• Excellent Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel, plus experience with enterprise project and portfolio management systems, ERP systems, and BI tools.
• Strong analytical capabilities and familiarity with forecasting and simulation tools, strategic thinking, and cross-functional collaboration.
• Fluent English is required.

Nice to have

• Experience with Planisware and/or SAP.
• Power BI experience.
• Experience creating predictive and optimization models or using data science tools and programming languages.
• Experience in AI or machine learning.
