What you will do

• Lead the design and development of backend services and APIs powering the Machine Identity Security control plane.
• Own and drive backend architecture and system design with a focus on scalability, reliability, and extensibility.
• Design and operate high-throughput distributed systems for multi-tenant SaaS environments, optimizing for latency and data consistency.
• Build integrations between the control plane and external systems such as Terraform and Ansible.
• Partner with product, platform, and security teams to define long-term system direction and evolve capabilities.
• Mentor engineers and drive technical consistency and best practices across multiple platform teams.

Requirements

• Must be based in the United States.
• 8+ years of professional experience in software development with ownership of complex backend or control plane systems.
• Strong experience building backend services and APIs using Java; Go experience is a plus.
• Deep expertise in designing and scaling distributed systems and microservices architectures.
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP), ideally within SaaS environments.
• Experience with data streaming or messaging systems, such as Kafka, and orchestration tools like Kubernetes.
