Senior Associate, Credit Transactions

TL;DR

Senior Associate, Credit Transactions (Real Estate Debt): Underwrite new debt transactions for institutional quality multi-family, industrial, office, hospitality, and specialty properties with an accent on valuation analysis, financial modeling, and risk identification. Focus on creating investment packages for Credit Investment Committee, performing property-level analysis, loan cash flows, and corporate tenant credit research.

Hybrid in Los Angeles office: at least four full days each week in office (10250 Constellation Blvd, Los Angeles 90067)

Salary: $125,000 to $145,000 annually (Los Angeles)

What you will do

• Conduct valuation analysis of potential originations across multi-family, industrial, office, hospitality, and specialty asset classes.
• Lead creation of thorough investment packages presented to the Credit Investment Committee, supporting all assumptions.
• Identify and articulate major investment risks in verbal and written formats.
• Perform financial modeling focused on property-level analysis, loan cash flows, structure, and credit metrics.
• Research and formulate corporate tenant credit analysis using financial statements and online services.

Requirements

• Minimum of 4 years experience in underwriting debt or equity investments in commercial real estate.
• Power user of Argus and Excel (verified skill level advantage).
• Strong quantitative analysis, interpersonal, communication, and time management skills.
• Undergraduate degree required.

Nice to have

• Experience underwriting properties in the Western U.S.
• Experience in debt syndications.
• Advanced degree.
