What you will do

• Design and implement end-to-end automation for core Social and Search journeys using Cypress (web) and Detox (iOS/Android) in Nx monorepo.
• Evolve automation foundations: test architecture, patterns, utilities, and local run toolchains.
• Integrate into CI (Buildkite/GitHub Actions) with affected execution, parallelization, and quality gates.
• Drive test stability, flakiness reduction, and time-to-signal improvements.
• Establish test data/environment strategy with mocks, prod-like data, and API/contract tests.
• Build performance and load testing for critical journeys using Detox, Flashlight/Maestro, Locust.
• Define automated evaluation for Advanced Search including LLM experiences.
• Partner on observability and mentor engineers/QA on automation workflows.

Requirements

• 7+ years in software test automation/quality engineering at scale
• Hands-on TypeScript/JavaScript and/or Python; production code contribution
• End-to-end automation across web/mobile (Cypress/Detox preferred)
• Monorepos, CI/CD (Nx, Buildkite/GitHub Actions), affected runs, parallelization
• API/distributed systems testing: data setup, SQL/NoSQL, contract testing
• Performance/reliability: load tests (Locust/k6), latency/error analysis, flaky test reduction
• Staff-level leadership: influence teams, set standards, mentor

• Mobile/web performance tooling (Detox, Flashlight, Maestro, Lighthouse)
• Accessibility (axe, WCAG), visual regression testing
• Observability/reporting (Grafana, ELK, Datadog)
