TL;DR

Cloud Database Engineer (SQL Server): Ensure SQL Server database performance and availability in a 24x7 environment with an accent on installation, configuration, tuning, security, and replication. Focus on establishing backup/recovery policies, code reviews, 24x7 support, and integrating third-party software with corporate databases.

Location: Philippines - Manila (hirify.global-FLEX hybrid model: 2 days office, 3 days remote)

What you will do

  • Install, configure, upgrade, monitor, maintain, and manage multiple SQL Server databases.
  • Perform database and application tuning, establish backup/recovery policies, and implement database security.
  • Create, maintain, and monitor SQL Server replication.
  • Conduct code reviews, provide consultation to development teams, and review/approve database designs.
  • Integrate third-party software and databases with corporate systems, setup documentation, and train staff.
  • Provide 24x7 support in on-call rotation and attend meetings/training as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Information Systems, or related field or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years maintaining SQL Server mission-critical databases.
  • 3+ years TSQL programming.
  • 2+ years implementing and maintaining database replication.
  • Ability to work with technical/non-technical people, strong problem-solving skills, and meet deadlines.
