What you will do

• Design and maintain local development environments that mirror production behavior.
• Build and operate build systems, CI pipelines, and test orchestration for multi-service systems.
• Own integration and end-to-end testing infrastructure, including fixtures and flake reduction.
• Develop internal tooling (CLI, SDKs, scaffolding) to standardize platform interaction.
• Establish developer experience strategy and standards for build and test systems across Trase OS.
• Mentor engineers and identify systemic sources of developer friction to increase velocity.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in software engineering with a focus on developer tooling, build systems, or platform engineering.
• Experience working in multi-service or distributed systems environments.
• Strong proficiency with CI/CD systems, test infrastructure (integration/E2E), and developer tooling.
• Proven ability to integrate LLMs into developer tooling and internal platforms to boost productivity.
• Experience driving cross-team technical initiatives and improving system reliability.
• Location: Must be based in the Seattle, WA area

Nice to have

• Experience designing containerized or ephemeral local-first dev environments.
• Expertise in reducing test flakiness at scale.
• Familiarity with observability tooling for debugging developer workflows.
• Experience in regulated or security-sensitive environments.
• Knowledge of tools like Bazel, Tilt, SonarQube, GitHub, or Cursor.
