What you will do

  • Develop orbiter GNC design and perform related analysis using control engineering tools, including guidance/control laws, thruster duty, DV, attitude dynamics, navigation filters, and sensor evaluation.
  • Verify and validate GNC algorithms via software tests and simulations from unit to system level, including MIL, SIL, PIL, and HIL campaigns.
  • Conduct pre-flight, in-flight, and post-flight analysis; develop operation procedures and support ground system interfaces as part of orbiter GNC team.
  • Perform troubleshooting of GNC flight software algorithms and propose solutions for errors.
  • Document technical specifications of GNC subsystem with understanding of inter-subsystem relations.
  • Support development studies for future space vehicle missions.

Requirements

  • Business level English for communication.
  • 5+ years experience in AOCS or GNC subsystem engineering for spacecraft.
  • Experience developing navigation algorithms (e.g., extended Kalman filter, orbital attitude/position calculations).
  • Experience developing attitude control algorithms (e.g., PID control, thruster commanding/modulation/allocation).
  • Experience with 6DOF simulations for spacecraft (state propagation, dynamics, hardware modeling, closed-loop integration).
  • Experience with C/C++, Python, Git.
  • Enthusiastic attitude, good team player, excellent communication skills.

Nice to have

  • 10+ years AOCS/GNC experience.
  • Systems engineering in space industry.
  • Spacecraft operation experience.
  • MATLAB/Simulink experience.
  • Software integration across languages (C/C++, Python, Matlab).
  • Real-time flight software implementations.
  • Business level Japanese.
