What you will do

• Develop scalable RESTful APIs using Python and FastAPI on AWS to handle millions of monthly requests for AI healthcare tools.
• Build secure integrations with EHR systems, telehealth providers, and healthcare networks, ensuring HIPAA-compliant data exchange.
• Optimize databases (PostgreSQL/MySQL), implement Redis caching, and design error handling for high-volume healthcare data.
• Coordinate backend systems with AI agents, including model inference APIs, data preprocessing, and safety validation layers.
• Automate healthcare compliance, monitoring, and multi-region deployments for mission-critical reliability.

Requirements

• 6+ years backend engineering with Python, FastAPI/Flask, RESTful APIs, and high-volume traffic handling
• Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL/MySQL), Redis, cloud services (AWS), Docker, CI/CD, and microservices.
• CS degree or equivalent, strong system design, third-party API integrations, and security best practices for sensitive data.
• Independent problem solver with cross-functional collaboration skills; preference for top university graduates and startup experience.

Nice to have

• Healthcare/fintech experience with HL7, FHIR, HIPAA, EHR systems, or telehealth.
• AI/ML infrastructure, message queues, event-driven architectures, or high-scale real-time systems.
• Seed/Series A startup experience or advanced CS/Engineering degree.
