Lead Assessor (IFS/BRC Food Safety)

Location: Lyon, France, with candidates located near Lyon or Paris; travel throughout France is required.

What you will do

• Conduct independent audits and assessments of food safety and quality management systems against IFS and BRCGS standards.
• Examine the implementation and effectiveness of management systems for food-industry clients.
• Identify continual-improvement opportunities and provide technical insight to strengthen food safety culture and business performance.
• Deliver professional third-party assurance services individually or as part of an audit team.
• Build long-term client relationships and contribute technical expertise to the development of food assurance services.
• Complete approximately 180 chargeable days per year.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in food industry processing or technology.
• At least 2 years of experience in food production and technology within the food industry.
• Professional experience in quality management and food safety systems.
• Qualification to audit IFS Food and BRC Food standards.
• Qualification in dairy products, meat, bakery, drinks, and oils or fats activities.
• Good written and spoken English and French at C level required.
