Lead Auditor (GHG)

Location: Lyon, France, with preference for candidates close to northern or eastern France

What you will do

• Conduct legal and voluntary verifications and technical reviews against applicable standards and procedures.
• Lead verification teams, coordinate findings, complete visits within agreed timelines, and produce verification and summary reports.
• Maintain client communication, escalate issues, identify additional service opportunities, and share client feedback internally.
• Maintain technical competence, professional registrations, CPD records, and required competency documentation.
• Supervise, coach, and mentor verifiers in training and participate in meetings, training, calibration, and development projects.
• Apply health and safety requirements, assess risks, and report incidents, near misses, and safety concerns.

Requirements

• Thorough understanding of EU-ETS, ISO 14064, GHG Protocol, Bilan Carbone, and related legal and regulatory frameworks.
• Experience with third-party auditing and verification, including system-level and process-level auditing.
• Industry experience in GHG data and information management, preferably with 3–5 years of industry experience in GHG projects.
• Engineering degree or equivalent qualification in combustion, metallurgy, chemistry, or a relevant subject.
• Analytical and rigorous approach, with the ability to manage large quantities of data across multiple spreadsheets.
• Ability to audit in English and French; candidates should be close to northern or eastern France.
