Senior Software Engineer - MXP (Fintech)

Location: Hybrid/Remote in South Africa, Bulgaria, Poland, or Spain

Salary: €70,000–€110,000 in Bulgaria; €85,000–€110,000 in Spain; PLN 250,000–480,000 in Poland

What you will do

• Build and maintain backend services and APIs for cross-border payments involving crypto and fiat currencies.
• Improve trading processes, liquidity management, and automation.
• Collaborate with product stakeholders to iterate quickly and deliver customer-focused solutions.
• Translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders across the business.
• Develop reliable, future-proof products and contribute to engineering standards.
• Participate in an out-of-hours on-call rotation.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as a backend software engineer in a similar role.
• Expertise in Java and Spring Boot.
• Experience building and maintaining APIs and services.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Good understanding of banking, payments, or crypto-related financial services.
• Good written and verbal English communication skills.

Nice to have

• Fintech industry experience.
• Familiarity with distributed ledger technology or blockchain.
