• Collaborate with the product team to iterate and deliver high-impact results for cross-border payments.
• Develop future-proof products and deliver quality code consistently and efficiently.
• Translate technical complexities for non-technical stakeholders across the business.
• Advocate for the simplest and most effective technical approach in all engineering tasks.
• Contribute to the overall engineering culture and maintain high standards to improve team performance.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as a Backend Developer, preferably within the FinTech industry.
• Expertise in Java and Spring Boot.
• Proven experience building and maintaining APIs and services.
• Strong understanding of financial services, particularly banking, payments, or crypto.
• Must be based in South Africa or Bulgaria.
• Availability to participate in an out-of-hours on-call rota.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with blockchain or distributed ledger technology (DLT).
