TL;DR
Senior Java Developer (Fintech): Building and maintaining scalable Java applications and distributed backend services for business-critical financial operations with an accent on microservices, API development, and engineering quality. Focus on optimizing performance and reliability, troubleshooting production systems, and contributing to architecture, CI/CD, and automated testing.
Location: Kraków, Poland; hybrid model with 3 days per week in the office, or 2 days for parents of a child up to 4 years old

What you will do
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable Java applications and backend services.
- Contribute to distributed systems and microservice architecture.
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code and participate in code reviews.
- Collaborate with product owners, architects, engineers, and business stakeholders on technical solutions.
- Identify and resolve performance, scalability, reliability, and security issues.
- Support CI/CD automation, deployment workflows, and production troubleshooting using logs, metrics, and monitoring tools.
Requirements
- 8+ years of hands-on Java experience in an enterprise environment.
- Strong experience with Spring, Spring Boot, or similar Java frameworks, REST APIs, and backend services.
- Solid understanding of software engineering principles, design patterns, distributed systems, and service-based architectures.
- Experience with SQL, relational databases, and query optimization.
- Familiarity with automated testing frameworks, CI/CD practices, and continuous integration workflows.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
Nice to have
- Experience with event-driven architecture or messaging platforms such as Kafka.
- Familiarity with Kubernetes, OpenShift, nginx, Apache, Postman, or OpenAPI.
- Experience optimizing application performance and troubleshooting distributed systems.
- Familiarity with secure software development practices and monitoring dashboards.
