Data Center Electrical Engineer (AI Infrastructure): Own electrical design from building entrance to rack for facilities powering frontier AI models with an accent on critical power distribution, redundancy topologies, and high-density ML loads. Focus on developing reference architectures, performing power studies, reviewing designs, and qualifying vendors to enable scalable deployments.

Location: Remote-Friendly, United States. Expect all staff in one of our offices at least 25% of the time.

Annual Salary: $320,000 - $405,000 USD

What you will do

• Develop and maintain electrical basis of design, reference architectures, and specs for switchgear, UPS, PDUs, busway, and rack power.
• Review and approve electrical design packages from partners and consultants for capacity, reliability, and maintainability.
• Perform engineering studies like short-circuit, arc flash, load flow, and power quality analysis to guide decisions.
• Partner with teams to evaluate DC efficiency, modular strategies, and vendor qualification for supply chain resilience.
• Drive design standardization across sites while adapting to constraints and hardware evolution.
• Provide oversight during construction, commissioning, and influence industry specs for ML-optimized infrastructure.

Requirements

• 8+ years electrical engineering in mission-critical facilities, focusing on data center/high-availability power design
• Degree in Electrical Engineering or related; PE licensure valued
• Hands-on with electrical docs, single-line diagrams, specs, and modular/prefab products
• Fluent in power systems analysis using SKM, ETAP, or EasyPower
• Deep knowledge of critical power topologies (2N, N+1, etc.) and trade-offs
• Experience evaluating equipment from manufacturers and communicating with stakeholders

• Modular prefab in datacenter electrical/mechanical
• Medium-voltage, on-site generation, or energy storage
• Liquid-cooled infrastructure impacts
• NFPA 70/70E, IEEE standards, international codes
• Prior hyperscaler, colocation, or MEP consultancy work
