Maintenance Technician

TL;DR

Maintenance Technician (CNC/Hydropower): Diagnose, repair, and maintain large machine tools including manual and CNC equipment with an accent on electrical systems, facility modernization, and smart technology integration. Focus on retrofitting legacy equipment, troubleshooting PLCs and VFDs, and developing predictive maintenance programs.

What you will do

• Diagnose, repair, and maintain machine tools such as mills, lathes, and 5-axis CNC centers.
• Lead modernization projects including retrofitting equipment and integrating sensors, PLCs, and HMIs.
• Perform electrical maintenance on control panels, VFDs, and facility power systems.
• Collaborate with engineering and production teams on continuous improvement initiatives.
• Maintain records of activities, schematics, and upgrades while ensuring safety compliance (NFPA 70E, OSHA, LOTO).
• Create predictive and preventive maintenance programs and train junior technicians.

Requirements

• Must have valid driver’s license
• Minimum 5 years of experience in industrial maintenance focused on machine tools
• Basic machining and fabrication skills (welding, lathe, mill)
• Proficient in reading electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals
• Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365 tools (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, OneDrive)
• Ability to lift 50 lbs, climb ladders, work in confined spaces and at heights

Nice to have

• Associate degree or certification in Industrial Maintenance or Mechatronics
• Licensed Journeyman Electrician (Washington State or equivalent)
• Experience with Fanuc, Siemens, Mazak CNC controls
• PLC troubleshooting and programming (Allen-Bradley, Siemens)
• Knowledge of CMMS software and OSHA 30 certification
