What you will do

• Drive architectural and framework improvements to boost driving quality, performance, reliability, and developer experience.
• Understand the full Waymo code lifecycle from deployment on autonomous vehicles to large-scale simulations.
• Architect, implement, and deploy C++ APIs for asynchrony, experimentation, multi-platform deployments, data extraction, debug tooling, and visualization.
• Guide onboard teams in setting up efficient, scalable, and reliable software.
• Improve internal tools, infrastructure, and processes to accelerate engineering velocity while controlling complexity.

Requirements

• BS/MS in Comp Sci, EE, Robotics, Physics, Math, or related (or equivalent).
• 3+ years as software engineer.
• 3+ years in C++.
• 2+ years in software infrastructure/systems.

Nice to have

• 2+ years on large-scale, high-complexity systems supporting hundreds of engineers.
• Experience in performance analysis, profiling, benchmarking, optimization.
• Improving software reliability and root cause analysis in complex environments.
• Developing evaluation systems and metrics.
• Building tools for developer experience.
• Experience in robotics.
