Financial Analyst

TL;DR

Financial Analyst (Media): Assisting with domestic digital distribution month-end and quarter-close processes, financial reporting, and balance sheet reconciliations with an accent on journal entries, royalty reporting, and discrepancy resolution. Focus on analyzing key balance sheet movements, maintaining close checklists, and collaborating with FP&A, global distribution, and operational teams.

Location: Hybrid in Universal City, CA – minimum 4 days per week in office

Salary: $65,000 - $80,000

What you will do

• Support monthly and quarterly closing processes, including journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and corporate data requests.
• Analyze movements in key balance sheet areas and prepare review packages.
• Maintain close checklists and calendars to ensure timely completion of tasks.
• Reconcile, track, and research discrepancies in monthly royalty reporting from distributors, following up on variances.
• Collaborate with Digital FP&A, Global Distribution, Global Finance Operations, and Domestic Digital teams.

Requirements

• Hybrid schedule: minimum 4 days per week in office in Universal City, CA
• BS/BA in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in Accounting/Finance.
• Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP, SUMIF, Pivot Tables).
• Strong analytical abilities, attention to detail, and ability to meet tight deadlines.

Nice to have

• Strong understanding of GAAP.
• Interest or experience in media and entertainment.
• Financial systems aptitude and process improvement capabilities.
