Process Engineer Intern

TL;DR

What you will do

• Assist in evaluating process flows, equipment selection, and technical documentation for production lines.
• Support production trial runs, equipment installation, debugging, validation, and ramp-up.
• Compile and review process documentation including flowcharts and work instructions.
• Identify and resolve on-site process issues under senior engineer guidance.
• Track quality issues and support prevention through documentation.
• Evaluate new equipment and conduct process experiments with data analysis.

Requirements

• Location: Manteno, Illinois (onsite presence required)
• Pursuing or recently completed bachelor’s in Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Electrochemistry, or related.
• Basic understanding of manufacturing and process engineering principles.
• Strong interest in process improvement, data analysis, and operations.
• Ability to collect, organize, and analyze data with attention to detail.
• Good communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.

Nice to have

• Exposure to quality systems like IATF 16949, PFMEA, SPC.
• Familiarity with quality tools (7 QC tools, 8D, Six Sigma).
• Knowledge of lithium-ion batteries or cell manufacturing.
• Prior internship or project experience in manufacturing or process engineering.
