What you will do

• Lead a team of ~7 system engineers on Infrastructure-as-Code driven systems, Linux, Windows, VMs, containers, and networks; mentor and support growth through one-on-ones.
• Own technical direction for global infrastructure management, aligning with company goals and setting best practices in design, maintenance, and optimization.
• Streamline delivery processes, collaborate with product teams on goals, timelines, and KPIs, and drive continuous improvements.
• Solve challenges across people, processes, and technology; remove roadblocks and foster collaboration.
• Oversee performance reviews, compensation, promotions, recruiting, and hiring to build a high-performing global team.

Requirements

• Experience leading infrastructure teams (Linux, Windows, virtualization, Kubernetes) and delivering large-scale projects in distributed, bare-metal environments.
• Strong leadership skills: motivate engineers, provide feedback, influence peers and stakeholders.
• Hands-on with Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, Ansible, GitHub Actions) and modernization efforts.
• Proven problem-solving, communication, hiring, and team development skills.
• Hybrid role: able to spend time onsite in Rotterdam; valid EU work permit required.

Nice to have

• Experience with specific tools: nginx, OpenSearch, RabbitMQ, MySQL/PostgreSQL/Redis/Clickhouse, Nagios/Grafana/Prometheus/OpenTelemetry.
