Staff Software Engineer

TL;DR

Staff Software Engineer (Payment Gateway): Design and develop Payment Processing Gateway and server-side products utilising state-of-the-art techniques with an accent on Behavioural Driven Development and Continuous Delivery. Focus on leading technical teams, improving development processes, and delivering innovative solutions addressing merchant and partner needs.

Location: Belfast, United Kingdom. Flexible working with the option to work from home. Eligibility to work in the UK on a permanent and full-time basis.

What you will do

• Understand merchant and partner needs to deliver high-quality, innovative solutions.
• Lead and inspire the team through training, mentoring, and setting technical examples.
• Improve software development processes, methodologies, and tools for faster delivery.
• Collaborate on accurate, timely deliverables with quality built into the lifecycle.
• Identify critical tasks, assist with planning, resolve issues, and contribute beyond assignments.
• Assist with deployments to test and production environments.

Requirements

• BSc/MSc in Computer Science or equivalent, or commercial experience in C#, Java, or other OO language
• Experience in server product development
• Understanding of database design and development
• Experience with Design Patterns, Refactoring, OO Design
• Experience in Agile SCRUM or Lean Kanban
• Experience leading a team
• Eligibility to work in the UK on a permanent and full-time basis
• Experience in Web Services

Nice to have

• Web client programming skills (HTML, JavaScript, CSS)
• Experience in asynchronous messaging systems
• Experience of Windows development on .Net
