What you will do

• Define and drive design, implementation, and testing of AI capabilities in Spring Portfolio.
• Engage with open-source community via GitHub issue triaging and contribution reviews.
• Mentor senior and staff-level engineers to foster technical excellence.
• Collaborate with product management, design, engineering teams, and AI vendors like Anthropic, OpenAI.
• Drive improvements in engineering practices, tools, processes, and architectural reviews.
• Evangelize Spring products through blogs, speaking, and marketing activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor's in Computer Science or related + 12+ years experience OR Master's + 10+ years.
• Strong proficiency in Java and deep understanding of Spring fundamentals (dependency injection, application context).
• Hands-on experience building production applications with Spring Portfolio.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving skills, and communication abilities for technical and non-technical audiences.

Nice to have

• Experience contributing to or maintaining open-source projects.
• Knowledge of agentic patterns, LLMs, prompt engineering, vector databases.
• Familiarity with Langchain4J, application observability (Micrometer, OpenTelemetry), extensible APIs.
• Experience with AI coding assistants, Git, GitHub Actions CI.
