Junior Database Administration

TL;DR

Junior Database Administration (Oracle, MS SQL, MySQL, Postgres, MongoDB): Monitoring database instance health, managing backups and routine maintenance, troubleshooting connectivity and performance issues with an accent on alert response, storage tracking, and security controls. Focus on executing performance triage using AWR/ASH/execution plans, validating restores, and supporting migration projects.

What you will do

• Monitor database health (Oracle, MS SQL, MySQL, Postgres, MongoDB), storage, replication, and respond to alerts
• Manage backup/restore validations using RMAN and native tools, perform routine maintenance like indexing, stats, and patching
• Troubleshoot connectivity, networking, and basic performance issues using AWR/ASH and execution plans
• Maintain CMDB inventory, user access, and security controls including TLS/certificate management
• Support migration projects and collaborate with L3 SMEs on escalations

Requirements

• Professional English proficiency (both verbal and written)
• Strict adherence to ITSM processes and Change Control
• Strong documentation skills for SOPs and knowledge base articles
• Operational knowledge of MS SQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB
• Hands-on experience with Oracle technologies: RMAN, ASM, Data Guard, Listener/TNS, FRA
• Proficiency in diagnostic tools (AWR, ASH, execution plans, wait events) and backup procedures

Nice to have

• Experience with scripting languages like PowerShell, Bash, or Python
