Data Engineer

TL;DR

Data Engineer (HR Analytics): Design and implement scalable HR data architecture and ETL/ELT pipelines with an accent on integration from systems like Workday, data lake optimization, and security compliance. Focus on building reliable data flows, lifecycle management, quality monitoring, and collaboration with data science teams.

Location: Hybrid (8 days/month) in Alphen aan den Rijn or Deventer (Netherlands), Madrid (Spain), Milan (Italy), or Cluj-Napoca (Romania)

What you will do

• Design and implement modern, scalable data architecture for HR and people analytics
• Build and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines integrating data from Workday and other sources
• Optimize data lake structure, ensure data quality via monitoring and validation
• Implement security, compliance, lifecycle management, auditability, and backup strategies
• Collaborate with Lead Data Scientist, technical teams, and stakeholders
• Document architecture, processes, and standards

Requirements

• Strong background in data engineering and data platform design
• Hands-on experience with SQL, data modelling, and ETL/ELT pipelines
• Experience with cloud-based data platforms (preferably Snowflake)
• Solid understanding of data architecture, storage, security, and integrations
• Full professional proficiency in English
• Bachelor-level thinking and working ability

Nice to have

• Experience with Snowflake (incl. Snowpark) or Azure Data Services
• Experience with Python
• Familiarity with Power BI for data monitoring
• Basic software engineering knowledge
