User Experience Designer

User Experience Designer (Design Systems): Lead the creation and evolution of a scalable design system for a major digital ecosystem spanning web and mobile platforms with an accent on reusable components, accessibility, and consistency across multiple brands. Location: Hybrid role based in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA), Canada. Residency in GTA required with availability for in-person meetings and occasional client site visits.

What you will do

• Lead development, rollout, and governance of a unified design system across digital properties.
• Audit and standardize existing designs into reusable components, patterns, and design tokens.
• Create and maintain documentation, usage guidelines, and accessibility standards (AODA/WCAG).
• Collaborate with engineering, content teams, and stakeholders to ensure scalability and consistency.
• Manage Figma libraries and facilitate feedback for effective adoption.
• Support broader UX initiatives and advocate for user-centered design.

Requirements

• Residency in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) with availability for in-person meetings.
• 5+ years in UX/UI design, including 2+ years focused on design systems.
• Bachelor’s degree in Design, HCI, or equivalent experience.
• Proven experience building scalable design systems in Figma or similar.
• Strong knowledge of responsive design, component architecture, accessibility, HTML/CSS/JS, and design tokens.
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Nice to have

• Experience in enterprise/multi-brand environments and agile workflows.
• Knowledge of Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) or other CMS/DXP platforms.
• Strong portfolio with design systems and component libraries.
