What you will do

  • Provide expert controls advice across the flight controls lifecycle including design, development, test, and deployment.
  • Work with program requirements to derive component performance specifications and author project documentation.
  • Support design reviews such as test readiness, peer reviews, and critical design reviews (CDR).
  • Troubleshoot complex systems issues, recommend solutions, and implement recovery plans.
  • Present status, issues, and risks to management and brief senior engineers.
  • Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, and systems engineers, technicians, and lab hardware.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in aeronautical engineering or related field with 6-10+ years of experience in controls.
  • Experience supporting flight control systems for unmanned air vehicles using requirements-driven processes.
  • Proficiency in MATLAB and Simulink; real-time software development experience.
  • Knowledge of control loop design, performance analysis, and physics-based modeling of aerospace components.
  • Ability to compile and analyze ground/flight test data; experience troubleshooting complex systems.
  • Team player comfortable working in labs with flight hardware and test equipment; effective communicator.
