What you will do

• Encode natural language regulatory rules into code using DSLs and AI techniques to create executable logic for mortgage decisions.
• Collaborate with mortgage experts to capture nuances, exceptions, and complex "it depends" scenarios in software.
• Build high-precision systems with robust testing and failure mode analysis where correctness is critical.
• Apply AI in innovative ways to automate underwriting, pushing boundaries in the lending industry.
• Automate complex regulated processes to make mortgages faster, cheaper, and more accessible.

Requirements

• Location: Palo Alto, CA (onsite)
• Deep curiosity and high agency to own features from design to deployment and maintenance.
• Strong track record of solving hard problems independently in backend development.
• Experience with TypeScript, NestJS, GraphQL, SQL (PostgreSQL), Temporal.io, or similar tech.
• Comfort working with AI/ML tooling, custom DSLs, and workflow orchestration.
