What you will do

• Lead a team of mechanical engineers, setting standards for excellence, driving design reviews, and contributing hands-on to technical development.
• Own mechanical architecture and key subsystem designs using CAD, ensuring optimal form, fit, function, durability, and manufacturability.
• Design and prototype components, resolve challenges via iterative development and data-driven validation.
• Align cross-functionally with Product, EE, Firmware, Operations, and manufacturers for design reviews, EVT/DVT/PVT builds, and production ramps.
• Drive DFM/DFA strategies, develop materials and processes with suppliers for cost-optimized solutions.
• Define best practices in design, documentation, validation, and risk management; travel up to 20% internationally.

Requirements

• B.S. or M.S. in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• 5+ years mechanical design in consumer electronics, wearables, or integrated hardware
• 5+ years with Tier 1/2 contract manufacturers in Asia and North America
• Key contributor to 2+ consumer hardware launches with full lifecycle experience
• Experience leading/mentoring engineers; mastery of 3D CAD (SolidWorks)
• Deep knowledge of materials/processes: plastic/metal injection molding, sheet metal, die casting, electronics integration
• Strong systems thinking for mech/EE tradeoffs, cross-functional collaboration, communication
