What you will do

• Provide technical leadership across critical domains, owning design and evolution of large-scale systems.
• Set architectural direction, lead system design, and drive long-term technology strategy alignment.
• Partner with Product, Design, and Engineering leadership to translate business outcomes into scalable solutions.
• Operate across full system lifecycle, from discovery to production operations, reliability, and optimization.
• Raise technical bar by defining standards, guiding reviews, and mentoring senior engineers.
• Identify risks and dependencies, drive initiatives to improve velocity, quality, and resilience at scale.

Requirements

• London-based for hybrid work: 4 days office, 1 day remote
• Strong technical foundation in computer science or equivalent, with continuous learning.
• Experience in fintech or financial services industry.
• Extensive experience building and operating production systems at scale (10+ years preferred).
• Deep knowledge of data structures, algorithms, system design, and complexity trade-offs.
• Proven ability to design and write high-quality software in modern languages.
• Exceptional problem-solving, communication, and collaborative leadership skills.
