Layout Technician

TL;DR

Layout Technician (Animation): Collaborate with Layout Artists to pre-visualize sequences, setting up files and solving technical problems with an accent on low-polygon modeling, simple rigging, scripting, and viewport FX. Focus on publishing shots with internal tools, managing scenes, and applying current artistic methodologies and technology trends.

What you will do

• Set up files for Layout Artists.
• Model low-polygon sets and create basic assets.
• Solve technical problems, including simple rigging and viewport FX.
• Write simple scripts and work with internal tools to publish shots.
• Break down scenes, manage own work, and collaborate with team members.
• Follow Supervisor and Lead guidance while staying current on artistic and tech trends.

Requirements

• 3-5 years professional experience in VFX or animation industries, with at least 1 year in animation.
• Medium-high English level; Spanish desirable.
• Strong knowledge of Maya and programming in Python.
• Demonstrable artistic skills: composition, perspective, atmosphere, editing.
• Knowledge of animation, cameras, staging, pacing, timing, and film-making concepts.
• Comfortable with studio procedures, production, and pipeline requirements.
