Safeguarding Programme Manager (Emergency Cash): Leading safeguarding design, implementation, and risk management for emergency cash transfer responses with an accent on integration into high-pressure operations and survivor-centred case handling. Focus on conducting rapid risk assessments, delivering trainings, managing incidents, and strengthening systems for safe, adaptive humanitarian delivery at scale.

Fully remote worldwide; salary benchmark provided based on your country of residence (examples: US, UK, Kenya)

Base Salary: US $94,700 / UK £61,200 / Kenya $61,900 (plus 10% target bonus and benefits stipend)

What you will do

  • Lead safeguarding design, risk assessments, trainings, and incident management for emergency cash activations from start to closure.
  • Develop and innovate safeguarding systems, tools, and protocols fit for rapid, high-risk environments.
  • Collaborate with EC, programme, audit, and people teams to integrate safeguarding into planning and operations.
  • Represent safeguarding in coordination structures and conduct after-action reviews to capture learnings.
  • Build trust and communication across teams, mentoring staff and modelling collaborative leadership.

Requirements

  • Professional fluency in English (French, Swahili, Portuguese highly desirable).
  • Minimum 5+ years in safeguarding, protection, or risk management in humanitarian/development settings.
  • Demonstrated experience in emergency/rapid response operations across multiple countries/contexts.
  • Deep knowledge of safeguarding standards, survivor-centred case management, and abuse prevention.
  • Strong analytical, decision-making, and communication skills for high-pressure crisis environments.
  • Exceptional alignment with hirify.global values; experience from low-income/marginalized communities encouraged.
  • Must be able to travel 30–40% on short notice for responses and team events.
